YAY! My sister (the one with all the kids) ended up getting rid of all of their different kinds of socks and bought one specific kind for each person in the family. (For example, the oldest child's socks were white with a blue stripe, etc., and no one else had socks like that.) That way, she just had to sort the socks into piles and not into pairs. That makes things very simple ... but also doesn't make for a lot of variety in footwear. But hey ... it works for them. :o)
Of course, I met someone who didn't ever want his socks to be mismatched ... even if they were the same kind of socks from the same package (like, even if six pairs of socks came in one package, he didn't want any of those socks to be mismatched with another sock in that package if that sock wasn't the original sock partner). Crazy!
I love your blog. Ventured over from terrible speller. I feel your pain - in fact I posted about your pain in my blog. http://lottakids1961.blogspot.com/2005/12/no-christmas-stress-here.html
I'm with you on the stitches too. 3 trips to the ER last summer IN ONE WEEK for stitches.
I am a homeschooling mom of 5 adorable children, and wife to the most wonderful man on the face of the earth. I'm a perfectionist who has had to put that part of my brain in park while raising 5 children whom are not perfectionists!

How did you defeat them? Trash or back in the drawer?
